ABSTRACT

Our house kitchen is being filled with many fresh or dried herbs which are added in the course of food preparation. These additives have been given different name and are kept under different category according to their uses. Namely spices, these are the additives added to prepared food or during preparation so sense organ may be pleased and reflex would say good taste. These additives are used either fresh or in dried form, or used as whole or as a part, may be used before, during and after the preparation. The above article is being prepared to focus on such a spice or additive for food which imparts taste to the preparation and also possess many distinct medicinal properties. In common language it is being known as curry tree and in biologically known as Murraya Koenigii. Irrespective of the fact that curry leaves is being integral part of the food it is being known to act pre-clinically against microbes, inflammation, ulcer, and also known for antioxidant property. The above article deals with the medicinal uses and the phyto-chemical properties of curry plant.
