ABSTRACT

Nowadays, one of the most common tumors in the world is colorectal cancer (CRC) which is increasing day by day and attributes to the mortality of many lives around the globe. It is also the second most lethal and third most widespread cancer diagnosis for both males and females. However, numerous inventive treatments had been developed for both primary and advanced colorectal cancer which include surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and utilizing some of the novel drug delivery systems. In the present review, we have attempted to address several innovative, novel treatment methods, procedures, and targeting strategies employing different polymers and drugs to deliver at colonic region. Also, the present review highlighted the applications of nanocarriers such as carbon nanotubes, gold nanoparticles, dendrimers, liposomes, hydrogels, and phytotomies for the effective treatment of CRC
