ABSTRACT

The delivery of hydrophobic drug is always a difficult task to administered in body. Hence, to overcome this issue is all the time a interesting topic among the researcher. Nanotechnology and lipid-based drug delivery system are the prime solution for hydrophobic drug delivery. Among them nanoemulgel is one of the suitable formulations because of their dual characteristics, it contains nanoemulsion and gel base. The fusion of nanoemulsion and gel matrix makes the formulation more thermodynamically stable, increasing permeability, viscosity and bioavailability. This review highlights the properties, preparation methods and benefits of nanoemulgel formulation as a nano-carrier for drug delivery.
